Washington Romance Writers (WRW) is a Romance Writers of America chapter based in the DC metropolitan area — with many members who participate virtually from outside the region.

Whether you’re drafting your first manuscript, querying, indie publishing, or building a backlist, WRW offers education, connection, accountability, and opportunities to share your work.

This is a writer-led community — the more you show up, the more you’ll get out of it.

How to Join or Renew

Membership in Washington Romance Writers is available to anyone who is a confirmed member of Romance Writers of America. Annual membership begins upon receipt of payment.

The cost to join or renew for 2026 is $40.

  1. Confirm you are a current member of Romance Writers of America (RWA).
  2. Complete the WRW membership form on the RWA website.
  3. Join or renew your WRW membership via the link below (payment is handled online).
  4. Watch for your welcome email and Groups.io access information. Please allow 1–3 business days for processing.
